On behalf of our Chancellor, Chief Dr. Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, OFR, CON, Management, Staff and Students of the University, I write to express our profound appreciation and gratitude to all of you for your continued support and commitment to the educational development of your children/wards, our students.
Indeed, we are grateful to God for His special grace and guidance that ensured the successful completion of the 2018/2019 academic session, and for a successful accreditation exercise. To God be the glory, honour and adoration.
As a University, we recognize the confidence you repose in us for a balanced and functional education. We are aware of the enormous financial, moral and material investments that you put into the lives of these young ones. It is our prayer that in the end, the Lord will grant us all success in the name of Jesus!!!
As part of our culture of transparency and information sharing, we are delighted to appraise you as follows:
1. Resumption Date
Resumption of the 2019/2020 academic session for returning and fresh students is as follows:
a. All returning students: 21st September, 2019
b. Fresh students: 29th September, 2019
2. Maiden Convocation
ECU is glad to announce that she will be organizing her maiden convocation on Saturday 16th November, 2019. All graduating students are required to pay a levy of thirty thousand naira (N30,000) only. Graduands are entitled to leave the University with their graduation gowns and hoods.
3. Payment of School fees
Parents/sponsors are reminded that payment of total school fees is due by the beginning of the session for those who choose to pay once OR at least 50% of the total fees by the beginning of each semester for those who choose to pay twice.
Thus, parents/sponsors can pay any amount as many times as their cash flow permits, such that by the beginning of the session for those who choose to pay once, they would have paid a total of 100% of the sessional fees OR by the beginning of each semester for those who choose to pay twice, they would have paid an amount equal to 50% of the total fees tuition fees of N250,000 for students in the Faculty of Agric. N395,000 for the students in other Faculties and 695,000 for Law students. These values exclude graduation levy for graduating students only, application form fee, acceptance fee, x-ray/genotype, Student Representative Body dues, Departmental dues, substance abuse/drug test fee. There is also a surcharge for damages/loss of University property which is payable as and when they arise for all students.
However, parents/sponsors are reminded that all payments should be made in the name of the student to enable the University credit the value to the student’s account. In addition, parents/sponsors are to note that payment of fees can be made into any branch of the university bank accounts. Account details are as earlier published.
Outstanding School Fees
Students who are unable to pay their fees as stipulated above will not be allowed to write sessional examinations at the appointed time. They may, however, write such examinations when available at a future date only after full payment of school fees at the time.
4. 2019 Summer School
The Summer School is a remedial programme put in place to assist students who failed in one or more courses to remedy them during the vacation period in order to assist them graduate along with their colleagues who remain in good academic standing.
Below are details of the 2019 Summer School for regular Tier 1 students:
Duration: 5 Weeks (1st July– 2nd Aug. 2019)
1 – 3 Credits: N 50, 000.00
4 – 6 Credits: N 80,000.00
7 – 12 Credits: N 150, 000.00
Meanwhile, during the 2018/2019 Summer School period students who were admitted late at the beginning of the session (Tier 2) and did not receive full semester lectures are to return to campus on the 1st of July 2019. This category of spill-over students will continue to receive lectures from 1st July 2019 to 13th Sept, 2019 and sit for the 2018/2019 academic session first-semester examination during the 2019 Summer School period at no cost.
Interested candidates are required to pre-register and complete the Summer School form online through the University’s website on www.edwinclarkuniversity.org
Summer School fees are to be paid in full into any of the University’s accounts and thereafter students must complete and submit Summer School forms online. Only those who pre-registered as specified above would be allowed into the University campus.
All students coming to campus for Summer School for failed courses are to present:
a. A printed copy of the Summer School Form.
b. Original copy of payment teller for Summer School.
5. Students discipline
The University remains committed to discipline in all ramifications and will not hesitate in correcting the erring ones. The culture of discipline will be sustained and as such, parents, as partners in progress, are required to join hands with the University in this respect. The University will continue to enforce its dress codes and appearance on campus. Students are expected to resume for the next session with decent and acceptable dresses in line with the University’s rules and regulations.
6. 2019/2020 Admission
We are pleased to inform our distinguished parents/sponsors that the admission into all programmes in the University for the 2019/2020 academic session has commenced. Details are available on the University’s websites and the admission handbills. Opportunities are also available to parents/sponsors and students to becoming Freelance Marketers (entitled to a commission) for the University; call the Admission Officer for details on 08034710699.
